Cleto “Sundy” Chazares was born in a small rural village in Mexico. He graduated from Hardee Sr. High School in Wauchula, Florida in 1987. Mr. Chazares was a track and cross country stand out in high school and received an athletic scholarship to attend St. Edward’s University in Austin, Texas.
He earned Academic All-American Honors, was a national cross-country national finalist four years in a row (a record that still stands) and served as freshman class president in the student advisory council
He was awarded his Master of Education Leadership from the University of South Florida in 1998.
Mr. Chazares has worked at the following schools in Hillsborough County: East Bay High School – (1993-98) Migrant Advocate Riverview High School – (1998-2002) Human Relations Specialist & Assistant Principal South County Career Center – (2002-present) Assistant Principal for Curriculum & Principal
Mr. “C” as students, parents and faculty know him, is driven by the thought of helping all students “turn it around”.
